anche quest'anno sara' organizzato un corso estivo a Boston previsto la terza settimana di giugno.
Come comunicatomi dalla prof. Joanne Caruso del New England College of Optometry di Boston, sono rusciti a trovare due lettori (sono anche optometristi e quindi la traduzione sara' anche con cognizione di causa) per la traduzione dall'inglese all'italiano e quindi le motivazioni che hanno portato lo scorso anno alla cancellazione del corso sono risolte. Come per lo scorso anno il numero minimo richiesto e di 20 partecipanti. In allagato trovate una nota informariva sul corso e potete comunque chiedere maggiori chiarimenti direttamente alla prof. Caruso.
Di seguito trovate anche la mail che mi ha mandato la prof. Caruso. Il corso e' aperto non solo agli studenti ma anche a chi e' gia' optometrista (laureato o anche in possesso di diploma professionale)

Vi ricordo, inoltre, che la prima settimana di giugno sara' in Italia il prof. Cavallerano per il suo mini corso. Gli
argomenti saranno diversi da quelli dello scorso anno. Il mini corso e'di solito dedicato agli studenti del III anno,
ma non c'e alcun problema se qualcuno volesse partecipare. Il prof. Cavallerano sara' anche uno dei docenti del corso estivo e durante il suo soggiorno potrete chiedergli maggiori chiarimenti.

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER INSTITUTE

One Week Program for Italian Optometry Students and Optometrists

The Center for the International Advancement in Optometry has developed an International Summer Institute Program for 5 days for Italian students and optometrists at The New England College of Optometry, Boston, USA The Center has been delivering these programs since the 1990’s to Optometry students and professional groups from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Latin America. This is a great opportunity for the internationally trained optometrist and/or optometry student in training, to participate in short, intense continuing education program, learn more about Optometry in the US and visit historic Boston.

This program is designed to include lectures, hands-on workshops by Experts in the field from or affiliated with the College. Lecture and Workshop Topics may include Contact Lenses, Primary Care Optometry, Ocular Disease, Pediatrics/Binocular Vision, and Research Presentations.

The cost of this program will be US $1000.00 per participant- this fee includes translation services. To execute the entire program we will require a minimum of 20 participants and the program will be delivered in English with Italian Translation of the lectures and workshops. The costs do not include airfare, meals and accommodation. The program dates will start on June 18th, 2009 (classes would be held on 6/18, 6/19, 6/22, 6/23, 6/24). Housing will be available at the Suffolk University dormitory which is located in the heart of Boston. Housing will include linens and Breakfast daily. The costs of the Dormitory Rooms are as follows - Single Room - $75.00 per person/per day, Double Room -$49.00 per person/per day and a Triple/Quad Room will be $37.00 per person/per day.

A Certificate of Attendance is provided to each of the candidates on successful completion of the program.

The deadline for notifying us of your interest in participating in this program is March 31, 2009 by completing the attached form and emailing to Dr. Joanne Caruso at carusoj@neco.edu Once program participation is confirmed a 50 % deposit towards the cost of the program will be required.
